The claims are still going out there that Trump and his supporters are Nazis. The claims are still ridiculous. But let’s look at a side-by-side, day-by-day comparison of highlights of the first year of Trump’s presidency against the first year when Hitler was Chancellor of Germany:

There’s a decided lack of things in that third column, representing Trump’s presidency. There are no concentration camps. By this point there should be eight concentration camps and one “collection point” or, if we went by relative populations, it should be close to 40.
Worst. Nazi. Ever.
It’s not a Nazi takeover. It’s not the end of the world. You only make yourself look stupid by making the comparison.
Really, people. Chill.
No helicopter rides, either.

Another thing I noted, in this comparison; a couple of months into it, Hitler managed to become a full-blown dictator. Trump, on the other hand, in the same time frame, was placing some power in the hands of the Secretary of State, instead of keeping it for himself. If he’s Hitler reincarnated, that strikes me as counter-intuitive.
Great post. It’s ridiculous that it’s necessary, but a great post, nonetheless.
On the other hand, Trump Derangement Syndrome HAS been fairly amusing. Admittedly, it’s getting old, but it still produces absurd behavior that makes me laugh uproariously, from time to time.

Do you have any books in dead tree form? I don’t read e-books.
BTW: nice post, thanks.

My novels “Survival Test”, “The Hordes of Chanakra”, and “Big Blue” are all available in dead-tree. Eventually, when I’ve accumulated enough of the shorter works, I’ll combine them into a dead-tree edition.

The trouble is, when the political opposition is based on a bumper sticker, no amount of contravening fact can scrape it off. The midterms are still way too much in play. There ought to be no way that the Democrats even gain seats, much less gain Congressional control, but the bumper sticker-fu could result in enough Democrat base outrage that a happy-ish Republican base (happy-ish and therefore not as energized to get out and vote) might not be enough to counter it.
So weirdly I find myself hoping for really bad November weather, rather than for a second year like the first. Or maybe I should say “in addition to a second year like the first.” I was a nose-holding Trump voter; I’ve been, overall, pleasantly surprised at his actions in office, while pretty much ignoring his tweets and those fire-breathing unofficial statements that are presented in the media as causing “worry” or “concern” among “thinkers” and “experts” when in fact they clearly result in Democrat glee.

While I would never advocate complacency, just remember that those telling you how horrible Trump is doing are the same ones who gave Hillary a 98% chance of winning.

Really Fantastic – lots of work. Thanks, thanks, thanks.
As I thought about asking about his tweets, I see that they’re all archived on twitter.

When I look at these, Trump is insulting somebody. Somebody who has already insulted him (tho that’s not always clear from the quote). Tit for Tat.
The way to get cooperation in multiple iterations of Prisoner Dilemma games is: assume trust, then treat as you were treated.
Powerline says Trump is a bully, but he’s not quite — he’s a counter-bully. Whenever anybody tries to insult him, he insults them back. Calling Rand Paul a lightweight is probably less true than calling him weird — but all the Libertarian Party folk I would meet at their conventions were weird. Including his father Ron whom I supported over Reagan in 1988.
I think if people were asked to name an offensive tweet by Trump, they wouldn’t be able to. It seems that the news media takes what he says and rephrases it to be more offensive — but usually with words not written by him.

Oh no! It’s even worse than I thought! Look how many *more* things are in the Trump column, every one of them taking away somebody’s rights. I’m so scared, I’m so frightened. /sarc
